West Ham vs Man Utd

West Ham and Manchester United meet in the WSL this week for a rearranged fixture that originally fell victim to Covid-19 concerns back in early January.

Due to the delay, this is the first time the sides have met this season, but past games between them have often provided great entertainment. There were six goals in this very fixture last season as the visitors prevailed 4-2, while the Hammers won it 3-2 when they met at Rush Green in 2019.

Manchester United are chasing Champions League football and won’t need telling twice that victory in this one could give them a six-point advantage over Tottenham and maintain the cushion back to local rivals Manchester City, who are also in action on Wednesday night.

This is everything you need to know about the game…

When is kick off? Wednesday 16 March, 19:30 (GMT)
Where is the match being played? Chigwell Construction Stadium
TV channel/live stream? FA Player (UK & international)
Highlights? FA Player, BBC Sport website
Referee? Daniel Lamport

Grace Fisk and Zaneta Wyne remain doubts and will be assessed ahead of this one after missing out against Birmingham at the weekend.

But Grace Garrard and Maisy Baker are the only confirmed absentees at this point.

January signing Jade Moore is part of the squad for the first time and could make her long-awaited debut, but the game has come slightly too soon for Signe Bruun and Hayley Ladd to return.

Aoife Mannion, Lucy Staniforth, Kirsty Smith and Millie Turner are also still sidelined.

Marc Skinner has hinted at possible rotation after a a number in quick succession in recent weeks.

West Ham: Leat; Parker, Flaherty, Cissoko; Longhurst, Stringer, Snerle, Hasegawa, Svitkova; Brynjarsdottir, Walker.

Man Utd: Earps; Batlle, Caldwell, Thorisdottir, Harris; Zelem, Boe Risa, Toone; Thomas, Russo, Galton.

Manchester United are the team in form here after putting together back-to-back WSL wins so far this month and scoring seven goals in the process.

The front four of Alessia Russo, Martha Thomas, Leah Galton and Ella Toone threatened to blow Reading away last time out and the Hammers will have an uphill task trying to keep them quiet.

West Ham returned to winning ways with a narrow victory over Birmingham at the weekend, breaking a run of three defeats in their previous four in the WSL.

As always, expect there to be a good number of goals in this fixture.

Prediction: West Ham 1-3 Man Utd
