Rangers take a 3-0 first-leg advantage to Serbia to face Red Star Belgrade as they look to seal their place in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men produced a stellar performance infront of a packed Ibrox crowd last week to put themselves in the driving seat, powered by goals from James Tavernier, Alfredo Morelos and Leon Balogun.
However, Gers will be wary of Red Star Belgrade’s threat after they had the ball in the net three times in Glasgow only for the linesman to raise his flag, while Allan McGregor denied Aleksandar Katai from the penalty spot in the first half.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game.
When is kick off? Thursday 17 March, 17:45 (GMT)
Where is the match being played? Rajko Mitic Stadium
TV channel/live stream? BT Sport 3 (UK), Paramount+ (US)
Highlights? BT Sport YouTube
Referee? István Kovács (ROU)
VAR? Christian Dingert (GER)
Red Star Belgrade’s only injury concern remains midfielder Veljko Nikolic, who is nursing an ankle problem.
Katai remains the danger man for the Serbian’s, while Mirko Ivanic likes to pull the strings behind Norwegian forward Ohi Omoijuanfo.
Ryan Kent is likely to be involved for Rangers despite the winger having limped off in the 3-0 win over Dundee in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals at the weekend.
Joe Aribo and John Lundstram will benefit from the rest afforded by van Bronckhorst at the weekend, while Aaron Ramsey played 79 minutes on his return from injury.
Steven Davis remains an injury doubt, however, while midfielder Ianis Hagi has been provisionally ruled out for the remainder of the season.
After van Bronckhorst switched to the system after the Serbian’s bright start last week, the Dutchman is likely to start with a back three with a 3-0 buffer to protect.
Lundstram impressed in the role at Ibrox and, despite Red Star having three goals ruled out for offside, Rangers were in control of the contest from the moment they changed to a 3-5-2.
Stranger things have happened in European competition, but it’s difficult to envisage Gers blowing their chance of progression from such a commanding position.
Prediction: Red Star Belgrade 1-1 Rangers
