Newcastle open to Allan Saint-Maximin summer exit with Wolves interested

Newcastle United are open to allowing French forward Allan Saint-Maximin to leave the club in the summer, 90min understands.

Saint-Maximin has established himself as a fan favourite since arriving from Nice in 2020 and he has been pushing for a contract extension for much of this season.

Eddie Howe has used the 25-year-old frequently since taking charge and is a fan of his abilities, but he is concerned by his hefty salary demands. Saint-Maximin has over four-years left on his current deal, so the club are unsure about offering him a significant wage rise.

Newcastle are working hard on targets for next season and beyond, and it remains to be seen if Saint-Maximin will remain at St James’ Park. The player’s representatives and intermediaries have been looking around at possible options, and 90min can reveal that interest is emerging.

One of those to express an interest is Wolves – who are looking to replace Adama Traore. Traore is currently at on loan at Barcelona until the end of the season and even if that deal is not made permanent, he has no future at Molineux.
