Mariners Sign J.P. Crawford To Five-Year, $51MM Extension


The Mariners have agreed to a five-year, $51MM extension with shortstop J.P. Crawford, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.  According to Passan, the deal starts this year and buys out two free agent seasons.  That the deal includes 2022, for which Crawford had already agreed to a $4.85MM contract, implies that Crawford receives $46.15MM in new money over the next four years.
