Kurt Zouma set to be dropped by West Ham after horrific cat attack

West Ham are expected to drop Kurt Zouma from their squad for the Premier League game against Watford after a video emerged online of the Frenchman attacking his cat.

The 27-year-old was filmed kicking and slapping his cat across his kitchen floor, in a disturbing video that has now been widely circulated across social media.

West Ham have “unreservedly condemned” the actions of Zouma and have confirmed that they will deal with the matter internally, suggesting they will look to discipline the former Chelsea man with a suspension and/or heavy fine.

The Metropolitan Police have decided against taking action against Zouma, who has already publicly apologised for his behaviour, while the RSPCA have labelled the defender’s conduct in the video as ‘very upsetting’.

As a result of West Ham‘s investigation into Zouma’s behaviour, Standard Sport report that he’s likely to be dropped for the Premier League game against Watford at London Stadium, which comes three days after the club scraped past Kidderminster Harriers 2-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

If Zouma, who cost the Hammers close to £30m last summer when joining from Chelsea. is indeed axed, it is likely to mean a recall in central defence for Craig Dawson, with Angelo Ogbonna sidelined for rest of the season with a knee ligament injury.

Zouma had only just returned to action himself after spending time on the sidelines with a hamstring tendon injury.
