Georgia Stanway confirms Man City departure

Georgia Stanway has announced that she has left Manchester City, with a move to Bayern Munich set to be confirmed soon.

Stanway departs the club after a fruitful seven years. Since joining in 2015, she has helped the Cityzens become WSL champions once, as well as lifting three FA Cups and three League Cups.

On a personal level she also became the club’s all-time top goalscorer in January, replacing Nikita Parris.

Reports suggest that Stanway is leaving to join Bayern on a two-year contract and she penned an emotional goodbye to City fans on Tuesday.

“I joined Manchester City with a dream of becoming a professional footballer. I have been grateful to call it my home for the past 7 years,” she wrote.
