Chelsea vs Tottenham WSL clash postponed due to Covid-19

Chelsea and Tottenham’s WSL clash on Wednesday has been postponed due to Covid-19 cases in the Spurs camp.

The pair had been due to meet at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening, and Chelsea would have leapfrogged league leaders Arsenal with victory.

This is the second time that this fixture has had to be rearranged due to Covid-19, having previously been postponed in January due to a number of cases in the Chelsea camp.

Tottenham are scheduled to play rivals Arsenal in the north London derby at the Emirates on Saturday.

A statement released by Tottenham read: “The decision was agreed between the Club and the FA after a number of positive tests for Covid-19 were returned within the squad.

“We would like to apologise to everyone at Chelsea and to both their supporters and ours for any inconvenience caused.”

Chelsea confirmed that a new date for the match will be set in due course, and all existing tickets will remain valid.
