After drawing a blank in their first leg, Barcelona head to Turkey knowing they need a win to progress in their Europa League last 16 tie with Galatasaray.
Xavi’s men were the better side in the first leg but came unstuck at the hands of loanee goalkeeper Inaki Pena, who spoiled the fun of his parent side with an outstanding performance in the Galatasaray goal.
As far as squad selection goes, the latest concern for Xavi involves centre-back Gerard Pique, who appeared to suffer a groin injury in Sunday’s thumping of Osasuna.
So, with that in mind, here’s how he could set up.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen (GK) – Pena is coming for his spot in the squad but, for now, he’ll start without threat.
Sergino Dest (RB) – With Dani Alves out of the squad, it’ll be Dest who gets the nod at right-back.
Ronald Araujo (CB) – Rested for the Osasuna game, Araujo will be straight back into the team here.
Eric Garcia (CB) – Barcelona face Real Madrid at the weekend and it’s hard to see them risking Pique’s involvement after his groin injury.
Jordi Alba (LB) – Limited competition means Alba is being asked to play nearly every game.
Sergio Busquets (DM) – Too important to leave out for a game of this magnitude.
Pedri (CM) – Gavi is back from a European ban but he’s unlikely to displace Pedri.
Frenkie de Jong (CM) – Left out against Osasuna, expect De Jong to return.
Ousmane Dembele (RW) – Dembele has been at his creative best in recent weeks and Barcelona need that if they are to progress.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ST) – Had seven goals in 15 Arsenal games this season and currently sits on six in nine for Barcelona.
Ferran Torres (LW) – The most expensive winter addition, Torres has been banging in goals in recent weeks.
